The Pentecostal Protestant Church is led by experienced spiritual and administrative leaders who are committed to unity, accountability, and the advancement of God’s Kingdom across South Africa and beyond.
The PPC operates within a federated structure that balances spiritual oversight with sound administration. Our leadership is entrusted with guiding the Church in doctrinal integrity, strategic direction, financial stewardship, and pastoral care.
Every leader serves with the understanding that authority flows from submission — and that leadership is ultimately an act of service to Christ and His Church.
Patrick Jansen van Rensburg serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Pentecostal Protestant Church in South Africa, overseeing a fellowship of approximately 280 associated assemblies.
Having grown up within the PPC — where his father served as a pastor — Patrick’s life has been deeply rooted in both ministry and leadership. He became the youngest member of the PPC executive board, serving as Head of Finance before assuming broader leadership responsibilities.
As Senior Pastor of Christ Like Church in Florida Hills, he has led congregations through seasons of renewal and growth, transforming struggling assemblies into thriving communities of faith.
In the professional sphere, Patrick served at the Office of the Auditor-General as a Senior Audit Manager before entering business and executive consultancy. His academic qualifications include:
Master of Development and Management
Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Ministry in Theology
L.Th Diploma
He is also an author of devotional works and theological writings. His leadership reflects a rare integration of spiritual conviction, administrative excellence, and marketplace insight.
Lorentz La Grange serves as the National Coordinator of the PPC in South Africa and is the Presiding Pastor of Shalom Montana.
As a visionary leader, he carries a deep passion for the wellbeing and flourishing of pastors and congregations. He works to foster unity and collaboration across PPC assemblies in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana.
His leadership is relational and forward-thinking — strengthening fellowship while cultivating vibrant, life-giving local churches.
Dr Pieter Uys serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the PPC, responsible for strategic planning, financial sustainability, and governance excellence.
He ensures that the ministry grows not only spiritually but remains administratively sound and financially accountable. Under his leadership, the PPC continues to pursue transparent governance, disciplined stewardship, and structured growth.
His oversight safeguards the integrity of federal systems and supports congregations through responsible administration.
Fritz Olivier serves as the Administrator of the PPC and Chairman of the Selection Committee. He is also a member of the National Pentecostal Forum.
Together with his wife, Janine, he has shepherded congregations in Newlands (Johannesburg), Vanderbijlpark, and Worcester since 2002.
Fritz ensures that federal systems, policies, and ministerial appointments are handled with diligence and spiritual discernment — supporting the PPC’s mission with stability and order.
Pastor Freddie Pruis serves on the PPC Board of Directors and oversees 32 assemblies within the Christ Gen Association.
His leadership is marked by humility, relational strength, and a commitment to healthy church governance. Rather than control, his approach emphasises care, accountability, and empowerment.
He also plays a vital role in cross-cultural church unity through his involvement with the Beulah Park Association, facilitating communication and collaboration among diverse congregations.
Pastor Henry Young’s life path is a testament to dedication, leadership and a heart for the community. Since he began his ministry at the Brits congregation of the Pentecostal Protestant Church in 1982, he has lived out his calling with passion and steadfastness.
In 1985 he moved to the Robertsham congregation, where he not only continued his ministry, but also played an important role in the administration of the church as an office bearer of the Youth Department and Treasurer of the District Council. His involvement showed that he was not only a shepherd of people’s souls, but also a capable leader in the organization of the church.
Since 1993 he has led the Paarl congregation in the Western Cape. For more than 25 years he served as Chairman of the Western Cape Association and led his congregation with wisdom and stability. His influence extended far beyond the walls of the church.
For 20 years, Pastor Young was the voice behind the radio program Life in the Word, where he shared the gospel and inspiration with listeners week after week. He also played a significant role in the local Bible School PBTC, where he contributed to the spiritual formation of many believers and Pastors.
His involvement extends even further – as a member of the PPC Board of Directors, he used his experience and vision to provide strategic guidance.
This tribute honors a man who dedicated his life to the ministry of the Word, the building up of the church, and the strengthening of his community. Pastor Henry Young’s life is one of faith, service, and leadership that will live on for generations.
