Our Statement of Faith

Grounded in Scripture. Anchored in Truth. Empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The Doctrinal Foundation of the Pentecostal Protestant Church

The Pentecostal Protestant Church affirms the historic Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and expressed within the Pentecostal/Charismatic tradition.

The following statements summarise the core beliefs that guide our doctrine, governance, ministry, and fellowship.

SCRIPTURE

The Authority of the Bible

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, in their original writings, are fully inspired by God and are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

The Bible is our foundation, our guide, and our standard for truth.

THE GODHEAD

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons:

  • Father

  • Son

  • Holy Spirit

Each Person is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal.

THE PERSON OF CHRIST

Jesus Christ — True God and True Man

We believe that:

  • Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father

  • Conceived by the Holy Spirit

  • Born of the virgin Mary

  • Fully God and fully man

He lived a sinless life and revealed the Father to humanity.

HUMANITY & SIN

The Fall of Man

We believe that:

  • God created humanity in His image

  • Humanity sinned and incurred the penalty of sin — physical and spiritual death

  • All people inherit a sinful nature

  • Those who reach moral responsibility commit actual transgression and bear personal guilt

Humanity’s greatest need is redemption through Christ.

SALVATION

Redemption Through Christ

We believe that:

  • The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice

  • Salvation is available to all who believe in Him

  • Justification comes through faith on the grounds of His shed blood

All who repent of their sin and receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again by the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe in:

  • The baptism in the Holy Spirit

  • The empowering and equipping of believers for service

  • The operation of the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit

  • Ongoing fellowship with the Holy Spirit

We affirm the continued ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church.

FIVEFOLD MINISTRY

Divinely Ordained Ministries

We believe in the biblical pattern of ministry expressed through:

  • Apostle

  • Prophet

  • Evangelist

  • Pastor

  • Teacher

These ministries are given by Christ for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the Body of Christ.

THE CHURCH

The Nature of the Church

We believe that:

  • The one true Church consists of all who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit

  • The local church reflects this spiritual reality

  • The new birth and personal confession of Christ are essential for church membership

ORDINANCES

Baptism & The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances:

Baptism in Water

The immersion of the believer in water as a public confession of identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

The Lord’s Supper

The partaking of the bread and cup as symbolic remembrance of Christ’s broken body and shed blood until He returns.

DIVINE HEALING

Healing in the Gospel

We believe that divine healing is provided for in both the Old and New Testaments and remains an integral part of the Gospel.

HOLINESS & SANCTIFICATION

A Life Set Apart

We believe that:

  • Without holiness, no one will see the Lord

  • Sanctification is both a definite and progressive work of grace

  • It begins at the new birth and continues until the consummation of salvation

CHRIST’S RETURN & ETERNITY

Our Future Hope

We believe in:

  • The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • His ascension into heaven

  • His present ministry as High Priest and Advocate

  • His personal and visible return

We believe in:

  • The resurrection of both the just and the unjust

  • The eternal blessedness of the redeemed

  • The eternal separation of those who reject salvation

MORAL & AUTHORITY PRINCIPLES

Submission to Authority

We believe in the principle that we are in authority because we are under authority.

Members are expected to uphold biblical standards in doctrine, governance, and personal conduct.

Sexual Conduct

We believe in heterosexual relationships between a natural man and a natural woman within the covenant of lawful marriage.

Adherence to this principle is an inherent requirement of membership within the PPC.

CLOSING DECLARATION

The Pentecostal Protestant Church remains committed to:

  • The authority of Scripture

  • The centrality of Christ

  • The power of the Holy Spirit

  • The unity of the Body of Christ

  • The fulfilment of the Great Commission

Our faith is not merely historical — it is living, active, and Spirit-empowered.
